We will move you from another host for free

People put off a move not because of the price but out of fear: something will break, mail will stop arriving, the website will go down in the middle of the working day. So we do the migration ourselves, instead of leaving you with a guide.

A serv.host engineer copies the project, brings it up on the new server, checks it together with you, and only then switches it over. There is no separate charge for that work.

  • Migration is free — no conditions, no extra charge for volume
  • Your old hosting keeps running until we switch over
  • An engineer does all of it, not you with a guide in hand
  • From any host and any control panel

How much does a migration cost?

Nothing at all. Charging you for becoming a client would be odd, so we do not bill the engineer's work separately. You only pay for the plan you are moving to.

$0for moving a project of any size
  • Copying and setup

We move the files, databases, mail and environment settings. We bring the project up on the new server and get it fully working.

  • A check before the switch

We open the moved website at a temporary address and walk through it together with you. Until you confirm that everything is in place, we switch nothing over.

  • The switch and DNS

We tell you what to change in DNS, or change it ourselves if the domain is managed by us. You choose the time.

  • Support after the move

For the first few days we keep a close eye on the project. If something comes up, we fix it rather than send you off to read the documentation.

What we move

Not just the website files. The whole project moves, including the parts people usually remember at the last minute.
Websites

Files, permissions, the web server configuration. CMS projects, custom-built ones, static pages.

Databases

MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL — in full, together with their users and permissions.

Mail

Mailboxes along with the messages and folders in them, not just the addresses.

The whole server

If you are on a VPS, we take an image and deploy it as it is, with every service and setting.

DNS zones

We move the records exactly as they are, so nothing is lost when we switch over.

SSL certificates

We move the ones you already have or issue new ones. Your website should not open with a browser warning.

How it works

Four steps. Three of them are on our side.
  1. 1
    You send a request

Write to the support bot: what the project is, where it lives now, anything unusual about it. We reply and help you pick a plan if you have not chosen one yet.

  2. 2
You hand over the access details

We need access to your current host: the control panel, SSH or FTP. We will say in advance exactly what is needed and ask for nothing beyond that.

  3. 3
We move it and check it

We copy everything to a serv.host server, bring it up, test that it works and show you the result at a temporary address — before anything changes for your visitors.

  4. 4
We switch over when it suits you

We change the DNS when you have the fewest visitors. Your old hosting is still running at that moment.

Why your website will not go down

Downtime during a move comes from rushing: the old setup is switched off before the new one has been checked. We do not work that way.
  • Two servers run at the same time

While the migration is under way, the project keeps running on the old host. We switch nothing off and take nothing away from you.

  • We lower the TTL in advance

A day before the switch we shorten the lifetime of the DNS records. Visitors then reach the new address within minutes instead of over a whole day.

  • You choose the time

Night, a weekend or any other quiet moment. We fit around your load, not around our own schedule.

  • Rolling back is possible

Your old hosting stays untouched for a while. If something goes wrong, we go back with a single DNS change.

Where we move you from

Your previous host makes no difference. All that matters is how the data can be retrieved.
  • From any provider

Russian or foreign, large or small. We put no limits on who you were with before.

  • From control panels

ISPmanager, cPanel, Plesk, HestiaCP and others. We take the data with the panel's own built-in tools.

  • From a ready-made backup

If access to the old host is already gone, an archive of the files and a database dump are enough.

  • Over SSH or FTP

When there is no panel at all, we move everything straight from the server.
